My work combines research and process-driven painting to explore art making as both healing modality and as spiritual inquiry. Through painting and works on paper, I investigate imagery derived from different aspects of mysticism, mystery and magic; such as universal forms and sacred geometry, as well as relying on my own intuition as guidance.
The foundation of each image contains a measured, underlying structure that is seeking to connect and define the space. While the images may seem solid at first glance, they are not intended to remain static. Layers of translucent color, metallics, and iridescents build slowly over time, reflecting and shifting with light and movement.
Revealing and concealing, the work suggests a space between what was and what is; the known and unknown, the seen and the unseen.
