Artist Statement:
My work brings together research and process-driven painting to explore art- making as both healing modality and as spiritual inquiry. Through painting and works on paper, I develop imagery informed by aspects of mystical traditions; engaging with symbolism, archetypes and universal forms such as sacred geometry.
Each piece begins with a measured underlying structure seeking to connect and define the space. Dense wooden surfaces, incised lines and mounted panels suggest an object-like presence.
While the images may initially appear solid and fixed, they are not intended to remain static. Layers of translucent color, metallics, and wax built slowly over time, allow the surface to shift, reflect and respond to light and movement.
